Tao Tantra, and What’s in it for Men
by Kiya Shanti
Four years ago I dove very deeply into Tantra – I started making a feature documentary on the subject with a teacher of Tantra and Tao. I attended courses, started getting in touch with my raw, primal energy, had my energy channels opened, and started to become multi-orgasmic. Yes, me, a man, with associated dangling parts, started becoming multi-orgasmic!
Ask most people, and they assume that only women can be multi-orgasmic. It’s one of the biggest sexual misunderstandings of our time. And in a sense, it’s a crime. A lie told to keep our energy small. But the truth which Tantrics and Taoist everywhere can also attest to – is that everyone – men AND women, can become multi-orgasmic. Fact.
What does being multi-orgasmic mean? It means to enter into an orgasmic state of being, a whole body ecstatic state. For the men out there, it doesn’t mean coming again and again. Through Tantric and Taoist techniques we’re able to go into orgasmic whole body states of ecstasy without needing to ejaculate. Through re-routing the energy that can disperse through ejaculation, and circulating it through the whole body, we take that orgasmic power and wire it throughout our entire body. Sounds good? You better believe it! It’s like jacking into the universal mains, or on-lining direct to the source of our power. Every man needs to know about this!
I’d been going into ecstasy for years through dance or meditation or breathwork, but something from that never fully crossed over into my lovemaking. Until I met Tantra. Tantra approached me like a hot sexy goddess on the dance floor. She seduced me with fiery workshops, blending ecstatic dance, massage, healing work, and powerful tantric rituals. She invited me to open to the power of my sexuality, and reconnect it with my heart. She reminded me that it was part of my spiritual practice to do this.
I was a little scared stepping into those first workshops. But looking around I realised we were all a little afraid of our own power, all a little hesitant to own it fully. And given a little time, over days, over weeklong trainings, gradually my energy began to unfurl. I began to open. I began to feel more juicy, alive, vibrant, sexy. Somehow Tantra wove me back together into one whole, after years of feeling I was cut off at the waist.
The men that were my brothers on those Tantra and Tao trainings are the most amazing men I’ve ever met. Men ready to get real, men ready to open, to release, to own their stuff, and drop the stories, moving ever deeper into their authentic masculine power. Men who revealed to me a new kind of man, guided by the heart, whilst owning their power.
My journey through Tantra also lead me to Tao. Now, Tao was an interesting goddess. She wasn’t as fiery and dynamic as Tantra. She was the quiet yet pretty goddess hanging out in the corner of the dance floor. She wasn’t showy and yet somehow, she intrigued me because of her quietness. I went and spent some time with her, and she revealed some of her wisdom to me – her Chi Kung moves that form the basis of Taoism. She taught me how to plug into real power – earth power, heavenly power, and how to enable these powerful forces to meet, melt and merge in the body. She jacked me into so much juice, that afterwards I couldn’t believe she’d been so quiet in the corner. Tao may not show off, but my god she’s got a direct line to all the powers of the cosmos!
Tao became the yin to Tantra’s yang. They complemented one another, balanced one another, supported on another. After the fiery passion of Tantra’s wildness, Tao grounded me, earthed me, brought me back to stillness. But not a boring stillness, a vibrant super charged place of peace that was pulsing with the power of the cosmos.
That’s when I fell in love with Tao and Tantra. I suppose these days I’m in a polyamorous relationship with them both. I love them both equally, for the different aspects of me that they empower.
I look around today and see many women on the paths and Tao and Tantra – amazing, vibrant, full power goddesses. And then I notice there are not as many men around. Why is this? Are men afraid of their power? Are they afraid of the depths they may be asked to drop to? Are they afraid of the heights of ecstasy contained within them? Are they challenged by the wide-open vulnerability this path may call out of them?
In my view, it’s time for men to step up, or dive deep into the realms of Tao and Tantra. To jack into the roots of their earthly primal power, and connect that vast power with their hearts, and with their path of awakening. For years I did a spiritual bypass on my sexuality. Now I realise – why would I want to pass by this vast source of power, when I can instead bring it into harmony and alignment with the rest of me.
Sex, Love, Spirit. When you bring them into alignment, life becomes juicy, alive, passionate, deep, and powerful. With the occasional lion’s roar!
